You should be done reading it in about 20 minuutes.

Thank you for the kind words.Perseushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11292281862441986618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3625804658511612758.post-35588954231804064212008-04-20T23:52:00.000-07:002008-04-20T23:52:00.000-07:00i'm so thrilled i've found this site and shall ded...i'm so thrilled i've found this site and shall dedicate the rest of my life to reading everything here.

thanks!

will read this book too. sounds like the god delusion, a very clever (and funny) and robust attack on god's existence. love it.

i'm happy in my life without god as well, and i know he doesn't exist as well. like you say it's not as if i think he exists and i just choose not to believe. not that at all. and there's a big difference. i don't think believers can really get that.Melbahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02257719342445833725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3625804658511612758.post-13350520147759314432008-04-18T22:51:00.000-07:002008-04-18T22:51:00.000-07:00hmmm I don't see pointlessness as a negative thing...hmmm I don't see pointlessness as a negative thing at all. I think there is a point, and a lot of meaning in life.

It's the God-theory that has no point. If God created us and we are his sheep and he decides when we die then there is truly 'no point' in striving for anything, willing to do anything or even getting up in the morning.

Horrible news about the death of a child, but the point is that life is very precious because there's nothing else, so we must take great care to make life as wonderful as possible.Perseushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11292281862441986618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3625804658511612758.post-14924177139284960162008-04-18T18:06:00.000-07:002008-04-18T18:06:00.000-07:00Well I thought after I posted it how boring boring...Well I thought after I posted it how boring boring boring it was and I was going to post sorry that was so boring everyone but then I saw a bin symbol and I thought, oh joy! I can delete it. Then after I deleted it I thought, that's prolly bad blog etiquette and now I've really made an ass of myself

I wasn't raised by religious parents - I think I was just being contrary and then as I said I invested God with feelings and it seemed a bit mean to dump him just because he wasn't very credible

But then last year someone we know lost their beautiful little girl and that's when I really realised there is no point to anything. I mean I knew that all along but that was the clincher

That's very funny about your grandfathersquibhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10744419106501810243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3625804658511612758.post-28341740323384178292008-04-18T02:16:00.000-07:002008-04-18T02:16:00.000-07:00Hmm. Squib left a reasonable comment, now she's changed her mind.

I was going to ask, Squib, what was the reason, if any, you jumped into atheism? My grandfather was reading the bible one night, as he often did, then suddenly threw it across the room and said, "What bullshit." My mum was just a child, and we never did find out what passage finally pushed him over the edge.Perseushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11292281862441986618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3625804658511612758.post-79443835216950057882008-04-17T01:37:00.000-07:002008-04-17T01:37:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.squibhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10744419106501810243noreply@blogger.com
